I always loved animals, but when I was a kid my parents didn't want to have any house pets. So I had to change that. Guess what I got for Mom on Mother's Day? Yep, a black cat. Schaefer was the family pet for many years. Except for a few years in college I've always had a house full of pets. When I grew up (some might say that hasn't happened yet) I married my lovely wife, Arlene, had three boys and eventually headed down to Fallbrook. We found the perfect plot of land and Old Fliegler's Farm was born.

We already had a full pack of dogs, all sizes, shapes and breeds, but when I stumbled upon a baby goat nearby, I had to have it. Habib was our first Goat. Not soon after Bashir and June Etta joined him. We now have many animals as part of our extended family. While I was gathering goats, the results of Arlene's green thumb germinated. Her love for flowers runs as deep as my love for animals. But she didn't stop with beautiful flowers; she grew vegetables too! In our flourishing garden we now grow melons, avocados, persimmons, apples, passion fruit, tomatoes, squash, garlic, raspberries among other things. I just can’t remember them all.

Our farm family continues to grow and thrive. We now have 35 chickens, 5 goats, 3 miniature donkeys, 5 rabbits, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 3 amazing pot-bellied pigs.

Come visit! We'll share what we have learned about how to love and care for animals. And how there is nothing more crisp and sweet than freshly harvested fruit and vegetables. Click around our site and plan your visit. We're just down the road a bit.
